Library of Alexandria picture and history
This rendition of the ancient Library of Alexandria was inspired by Carl Sagans, Cosmos Series. Founded around the year 300B.C. by Ptolemy I it was one of the most important libraries of its time. The library of alexandria contained over 700,000 volumes. The library of alexandria was destroyed in 391A.D.

In Adobe Illustrator, I created the outline of every element within the room. I imported the Illustrator file into Photoshop and airbrushed in the details. A very similiar technique was used in the muscle fibers illustration. Click for muscle illustration
