I try to avoid outlines of objects and working more with movement and light. Light is what gives us the ability to see objects. Therefore, what you are drawing must be analyzed and communicated with lights and darks; not outlines. The object you are seeing has multiple dimensions. It has a surface, density, texture and a spirituality of its own. It is my job as an artist to capture all of these elements.
I diversify my skills as much as I can. As a computer artist I need qualities that others do not. Learning quickly and adapting to new environments is as much a part of my job as refining my art skills. Much of what I do is directly affected by ever changing technology. Spending a minimum of one hour everyday researching new technologies and educating myself on existing ones helps me stay one step ahead.
Learning how to learn, developing the best possible work ethic, keeping up with technology and the constant refinement of my raw art skills have helped me stay ahead. I never assume, never set limits, and attempt to never fear the unknown. This philosophy has helped elevate my career to a very exciting level.
